The contract was announced Thursday, a day after Tapp joined Philadelphia in a trade that sent defensive end Chris Clemons and a fourth-round pick in next month's draft to Seattle. Analysis: A second-round draft pick by the Seahawks in 2006, Tapp has 18 sacks, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 65 games. Tapp will compete for a starting spot at left defensive end. Pro Bowl end Trent Cole starts on the right side. |

Analysis: The Seahawks announced the deal Tuesday. They drafted Tapp in the second round in 2006 out of Virginia Tech and re-signed him Monday. He has 18 sacks, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 65 NFL games. He had four sacks in a game against St. Louis in 2007. |
