Analysis: Sproles ran nine times for 23 yards and the score and also caught five passes for 43 yards. LaDainian Tomlinson will continue to get the bulk of the carries in San Diego, but expect Sproles to contribute on a regular basis. However, he and the rest of the Chargers could have a hard time generating offense next Sunday when they host Baltimore. |

In his third pro season, the running back had career highs for rushing attempts (61), rushing yards (330), receptions (29), receiving yards (342), receiving touchdowns (five) and punt return average (11.3 yards). |

General manager A.J. Smith said the team plans to begin speaking with Sproles' agent, Gary Wichard, about a long-term deal. |
