Both players participated in the team's first minicamp practice Tuesday as part of a three-day tryout with hopes of sticking. Analysis: Winslow, a former Pro Bowl tight end, was once considered one of the top pass catchers at his position before a failed one-game stint last season with the New England Patriots. He says being a tryout player is "different" but adds that it's "better than sitting on the couch," as he was while waiting for another NFL opportunity. He says he has "got years left." |

Analysis: Winslow barely played last season, making just one reception for New England in one game. He spent his first four seasons in Cleveland, making the Pro Bowl in 2007. Winslow then joined Tampa Bay for three seasons. He could fill a void at the position for the Jets, who lost Dustin Keller to free agency and have no proven tight ends. But Winslow also has been plagued by right knee problems. He has 438 career catches for 4,848 yards and 23 touchdowns. |
