Nov. 17 12:19 PM PT1:19 PM MT2:19 PM CT3:19 PM ET8:19 PM GMT4:19 AM 北京时间-Reed has been absolved by the Steelers for his poor tackling effort Sunday in an 18-12 loss to the Bengals in which he failed to bring down Bernard Scott on a 96-yard kickoff return for a TD. Analysis: Reed only halfheartedly tried to bring down Scott, but coach Mike Tomlin won't blame a kicker for the latest touchdown. Kickers rarely have the speed, mobility or quickness to do more than get in the way of a returner downfield. "Man, I am not going to go down to evaluating Jeff Reed as a tackler," Tomlin said. "When it comes down to that, we have failed as a coverage unit. I don't lose any sleep on the quality of Jeff Reed's tackles."

Oct. 21 11:02 AM PT12:02 PM MT1:02 PM CT2:02 PM ET7:02 PM GMT3:02 AM 北京时间-Reed has apologized to his teammates, saying he didn't mean to cause a distraction by getting involved in a run-in with Pittsburgh police several hours after kicking two field goals against Cleveland. Analysis: The incident was the second involving Reed this year and led to meetings with team president Art Rooney II, director of football operations Kevin Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin, none of whom was pleased with Reed's actions. Reed expects the investigation to take some time, but said Wednesday he is certain he won't be suspended. He also said he told his agent, Don Henderson, not to comment on the case. Henderson has said Reed will fight the charges.

Oct. 19 10:41 AM PT11:41 AM MT12:41 PM CT1:41 PM ET6:41 PM GMT2:41 AM 北京时间-Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says Reed will play in Sunday's home game against the Minnesota Vikings despite a recent brush with the law. Analysis: Reed is charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for allegedly scuffling with Pittsburgh police outside a bar near Heinz Field in the hours after Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns. Police were citing Reed's teammate Matt Spaeth for allegedly urinating outside the bar when Reed intervened. Police say Reed took a "fighting stance'' and challenged the officers. Reed's agent denies that.

Aug. 27 11:02 AM PT12:02 PM MT1:02 PM CT2:02 PM ET7:02 PM GMT3:02 AM 北京时间-Reed has a slightly sprained ankle and might not play in Saturday's preseason game against Buffalo. Analysis: Reed stepped in a hole late during training camp at Saint Vincent College but was able to kick last Saturday against Washington. Reed hit on a 34-yard field goal but missed from 48 yards. If Reed isn't ready - he's listed as questionable - rookie Piotr Czech will kick. Czech made a 41-yarder against the Redskins.

Feb. 14 2:30 PM PT3:30 PM MT4:30 PM CT5:30 PM ET10:30 PM GMT6:30 AM 北京时间-Pennsylvania State Police say Reed threw a tantrum in a Sheetz convienience store in New Alexandria, Pa., about 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, because the restroom didn't have any towels. Police say the incident happened around 2:50 a.m. on Feb. 14. Analysis: Reed has been cited for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, summary offenses similar to traffic tickets. Police say he damaged the towel dispenser, and used profanity to an employee and outside the store. Reed made 27 of 31 field-goal attempts during the regular season and made all five kicks during the Steelers' Super Bowl run. The Pittsburgh kicker has made 162 of 196 attempts scored 733 points in his seven seasons with the Steelers.
