Analysis: Raiola has played all 14 of his NFL seasons with Detroit, starting 203 games. Agent Kenny Zuckerman says Raiola would like to keep playing, but he'll have to do so elsewhere. He signed a one-year deal last offseason that kept him with the Lions for 2014.

The punishment was handed down by Merton Hanks, the NFL's Vice President of Football Operations, and comes following Raiola's sixth rules violation related to player safety.
Analysis: The Lions play the Green Bay Packers in the season finale Sunday with the NFC North division title at stake. Raiola can appeal the suspension, but until then he cannot attend team meetings, practices nor have any contact other than that related to offsite medical care.

Analysis: Raiola said he did not intentionally step on Ferguson's ankle and apologized to him for it. No penalty was called on the play. "it was totally unintentional," Raiola said. "I was stumbling out of the play, come on now, I'm not out here trying to step on people."

Agent Kenny Zuckerman says Raiola has signed a one-year deal and hopes to help Detroit reach the postseason this year. The Lions have missed the playoffs the last two seasons.
Analysis: Raiola was drafted by the Lions in 2001 and has played for Detroit his entire career. He's started all 16 games in each of the last five seasons. He was not charged with a single sack allowed last season, the first time in his career he'd accomplished that. Detroit went 7-9 last season and coach Jim Schwartz was fired. Jim Caldwell is replacing Schwartz.
