Analysis: Johnson was sentenced Friday to a year's probation and a counseling course under a plea deal with prosecutors. Johnson also must pay Lozada unspecified restitution. The six-time Pro Bowl player long known as Chad Ochocinco was arrested in August after Lozada said he head-butted her during an argument. She quickly filed for divorce, which was finalized earlier this week. They had only been married since July 4.

Davie police Capt. Dale Engle says Johnson and his wife were at dinner Saturday night and she confronted him about a receipt she had found for a box of condoms.
Analysis: Johnson was being held on $2,500 bond Sunday on a domestic violence charge after his wife accused him of head-butting her during an argument, police said. If convicted, Johnson faces a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine, though he could also receive community service, probation or anger management classes.

Analysis: He was released Thursday by the New England Patriots. He made the Pro Bowl six times, most recently in 2009, but had only a minor role in his lone season with the Patriots, catching 15 passes for 276 yards.

Analysis: The former Chad Johnson spent one unproductive season with the team, even though the Patriots went to the Super Bowl. He had 15 receptions for an 18.4-yard average and one touchdown, but rarely was a key part of the offense. Ochocinco, who played 10 seasons for Cincinnati before joining the Patriots. In seven seasons, he had seven 1,000-yard receiving years and a high of 97 catches.

Analysis: Ochocinco was inactive for the conference title game because of the death of his father a week earlier. In his first season with New England, Ochocinco played in 15 regular-season games, missing a Week 11 win at Philadelphia. He started three times and had 15 catches with one touchdown in 2011.
