|Feb. 7 10:07 AM PT11:07 AM MT12:07 PM CT1:07 PM ET6:07 PM GMT2:07 AM 北京时间-Warner is still winning awards. He picked up the NFL's Bart Starr Award this weekend, recognizing his leadership and work in the community.
Analysis: Warner and his wife, Brenda, established the First Things First Foundation in 2001, working with sick children and single parents, plus sending care packages to military personnel serving overseas. The couple is also involved in other charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics. Warner announced his retirement last month, ending a 12-year career. A year ago, he was named the Walter Payton Man of the Year.
|Jan. 29 11:08 AM PT12:08 PM MT1:08 PM CT2:08 PM ET7:08 PM GMT3:08 AM 北京时间-Warner has called an end to one of the great storybook careers in NFL history.
Analysis: The 38-year-old quarterback announced his retirement from the game on Friday after a dozen years in a league that at first rejected him, then revered him as he came from nowhere to lead the lowly St. Louis Rams to two Super Bowls, winning the first of them. Written off as a has-been, he rose again to lead the long-suffering Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl a year ago.
|Jan. 28 11:46 AM PT12:46 PM MT1:46 PM CT2:46 PM ET7:46 PM GMT3:46 AM 北京时间-The Arizona Cardinals and Warner have scheduled a news conference for 1 p.m. MST on Friday amid widespread speculation that the 38-year-old quarterback will announce his retirement from football.
Analysis: The former league and Super Bowl MVP has one year and $11.5 million left on the two-year contract he signed after the 2008 season. The total includes $7.5 million in a deferred signing bonus, and it's not known whether that money still will be paid if he leaves the game.
|Jan. 27 1:38 PM PT2:38 PM MT3:38 PM CT4:38 PM ET9:38 PM GMT5:38 AM 北京时间-Warner says the Arizona Cardinals quarterback will hold a news conference on Friday to announce whether he will retire from the game.
Analysis: The 38-year-old quarterback, who has led two franchises to the Super Bowl and one to the NFL title, has strongly considered retirement in the wake of a season that saw him miss a game with a concussion. He led the Cardinals to an 11-7 season, including a wild playoff victory over Green Bay, one year after directing Arizona on a stunning run to the Super Bowl.
|Jan. 17 8:38 AM PT9:38 AM MT10:38 AM CT11:38 AM ET4:38 PM GMT12:38 AM 北京时间-Warner completed 17 of 26 passes for 205 yards and no TDs and one INT in Saturday's 45-14 loss to the Saints. "It didn't end the way we wanted it to," he said. "It wasn't nearly as competitive as we wanted it to be, but sometimes you have those days. Today was one of those days for us."
Analysis: Warner was unable to move Arizona consistently in what is possibly his last game. He is contemplating retirement according to numerous reports.
|Jan. 16 2:09 PM PT3:09 PM MT4:09 PM CT5:09 PM ET10:09 PM GMT6:09 AM 北京时间-Warner has returned to Arizona's divisional playoff game against New Orleans after missing a series with a chest injury.
Analysis: Warner left in the second quarter after a hard hit on an interception return, but was back on the field for the Cardinals' first drive after halftime. Warner's career could be over after this game since he is contemplating retirement according to numerous reports.
|Jan. 11 8:18 AM PT9:18 AM MT10:18 AM CT11:18 AM ET4:18 PM GMT12:18 AM 北京时间-Warner, who improved his playoff record to 9-3, finished 29 of 33 for 379 yards and five TDs with no interceptions in Sunday's 51-45 OT win over Green Bay. The five TDs matched the 38-year-old's career best. "Whew," Warner said at his postgame news conference, "anybody else tired?"
Analysis: Warner insists his focus is on Saturday's divisional playoff game against the heavily-favored top-seeded Saints and not on his possible retirement. "I don't think you every want to stay too long, but you never want to go out before it's time," he said. "The hard part is trying to figure that out, but right now it's about another playoff game. It's about New Orleans and then we'll go from there."
|Dec. 28 3:32 PM PT4:32 PM MT5:32 PM CT6:32 PM ET11:32 PM GMT7:32 AM 北京时间-In Arizona's 31-10 victory over St. Louis on Sunday, Warner joined Fran Tarkenton as the only players in NFL history to throw 100 TD passes for two teams.
Analysis: Warner threw for 313 yards and two scores, his 99th and 100th with the Cardinals. He had 102 with St. Louis in his rise from nowhere to league MVP and two Super Bowls. The 38-year-old has shown few signs of slowing down this season, with 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. It's unclear how much he will play Sunday against Green Bay, but he needs just 278 passing yards for his fourth 4,000-yard season.
|Dec. 21 1:21 PM PT2:21 PM MT3:21 PM CT4:21 PM ET9:21 PM GMT5:21 AM 北京时间-Warner was 23 of 37 for 233 yards with two TDs and an interception in Sunday's 31-24 win over Detroit.
Analysis: Warner threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin with 1:54 left for the game-winning score. Warner has thrown for 25 or more TDs in each of the last three seasons.
|Dec. 15 10:29 AM PT11:29 AM MT12:29 PM CT1:29 PM ET6:29 PM GMT2:29 AM 北京时间-Warner threw two interceptions in the opening half after going 130 passes without a pick as Arizona lost 24-9 to San Francisco on Monday night.
Analysis: Warner followed the best four-game stretch of his career with a dud _ going 16 of 29 for 178 yards and getting sacked four times. Warner joined Johnny Unitas as the only quarterbacks to post a passer rating of at least 120 in four straight games.
|Dec. 7 12:08 PM PT1:08 PM MT2:08 PM CT3:08 PM ET8:08 PM GMT4:08 AM 北京时间-Warner threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns and the Arizona Cardinals' defense stifled Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings in a stunningly one-sided 30-17 victory.
Analysis: Warner, rarely under pressure, was 22 of 32 with no interceptions and no sacks.
|Nov. 22 1:52 PM PT2:52 PM MT3:52 PM CT4:52 PM ET9:52 PM GMT5:52 AM 北京时间-Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said he doesn't expect to decide who will start at quarterback on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings until just before game time. Warner and Matt Leinart split practice time with the starters again on Thursday, and Whisenhunt said he has made no decision.
Analysis: Warner, who sustained a concussion against St. Louis on Nov. 22, took all the practice time with the starters last week but sat out Sunday's 20-17 loss at Tennessee because of lingering symptoms. That left Leinart the starter without much preparation.
|Nov. 16 2:50 PM PT3:50 PM MT4:50 PM CT5:50 PM ET10:50 PM GMT6:50 AM 北京时间-Warner completed 29 of 38 for 340 yards and two touchdown passes for the Cardinals, who stayed two games up on San Francisco in the NFC West with a 31-20 win over Seattle on Sunday.
Analysis: The 38-year-old quarterback became the 29th player in NFL history to throw 200 touchdown passes. He had his 51st 300-yard passing game, tying Dan Fouts for fourth on the NFL career list.
|Nov. 9 1:56 PM PT2:56 PM MT3:56 PM CT4:56 PM ET9:56 PM GMT5:56 AM 北京时间-Warner tied a career high by throwing for five touchdowns after getting picked off five times the previous week as the Cardinals easily handled the Bears 41-21 on Sunday.
Analysis: Warner was at his best after a miserable performance in a 34-21 loss to Carolina. He racked up 261 passing yards and did not throw an interception, showing he's still a solid fantasy option within an offense filled with weapons.
|Nov. 2 11:58 AM PT12:58 PM MT1:58 PM CT2:58 PM ET7:58 PM GMT3:58 AM 北京时间-Warner threw two touchdowns and had 242 yards through the air but was intercepted five times and fumbled the ball away once in the Cardinals' stunning 34-21 home loss to Carolina on Sunday.
Analysis: These are the types of games that Warner will give you from time to time, but with the offensive talent around him it's something you have to live with. Expect him to bounce back next week against Chicago if he's given time to throw.
|Oct. 26 1:19 PM PT2:19 PM MT3:19 PM CT4:19 PM ET9:19 PM GMT5:19 AM 北京时间-Warner finished 26 of 30 for 231 yards Sunday with one TD and one interception in a 24-17 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Warner credited the Cardinals' defense as opposed to his passing. "Tonight," Warner said, "we definitely fed off our defense."
|Oct. 19 12:02 PM PT1:02 PM MT2:02 PM CT3:02 PM ET8:02 PM GMT4:02 AM 北京时间-Warner tied an NFL record for being the fastest to throw for 30,000 yards in a career in Sunday's 27-3 win at Seattle. He completed 32 of 41 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns.
Analysis: Warner tied Dan Marino as the fastest to reach 30,000 yards passing. They did it in their 114th career game. Peyton Manning did it in 115. He's averaged 288.2 yards per game this season (sixth in the NFL) while throwing at least one touchdown in all five games. Warner has eight TDs and five interceptions this season.
|Oct. 12 11:42 AM PT12:42 PM MT1:42 PM CT2:42 PM ET7:42 PM GMT3:42 AM 北京时间-Warner completed 26 of 38 passes for 302 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's 28-21 win over Houston.
Analysis: Next Sunday, the Cardinals visit Seattle, which is ninth against the pass, allowing an average of 208.0 yards per game. In two games against the Seahawks last season, Warner passed for 658 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions.
|Sep. 28 12:08 PM PT1:08 PM MT2:08 PM CT3:08 PM ET8:08 PM GMT4:08 AM 北京时间-Warner was 30 of 52 for 332 yards and one score but was picked off twice in Sunday's 31-10 loss to Indianapolis.
Analysis: Warner's 52 passing attempts Sunday was the most since he had the same number against the New York Giants on Nov. 23. Warner is 546 passing yards shy of 30,000.
|Sep. 22 6:14 AM PT7:14 AM MT8:14 AM CT9:14 AM ET2:14 PM GMT10:14 PM 北京时间-Warner completed his first 15 passes and broke the NFL's single-game record for completion percentage in the Cardinals' 31-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He finished 24 of 26 passing for 243 yards, with two touchdowns, no turnovers and no sacks.
Analysis: Warner had much better success against Jacksonville than against the 49ers in Week 1, when he threw two picks and was sacked three times. Next week, Arizona hosts the Colts, who are allowing a league-low 139.0 passing yards per game.
|May 3 2:38 PM PT3:38 PM MT4:38 PM CT5:38 PM ET10:38 PM GMT6:38 AM 北京时间-Warner says he's ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery to repair a hip injury that bothered him much of last season.
Analysis: Despite the injury, Warner had one of the best seasons of his career and only got better in the playoffs, where he directed the Arizona Cardinals to victories over Atlanta, Carolina and Philadelphia before going down in a 27-23 loss to Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. Warner took part in Arizona's minicamp over the weekend, but on a limited basis.
|Mar. 18 1:17 PM PT2:17 PM MT3:17 PM CT4:17 PM ET9:17 PM GMT5:17 AM 北京时间-Warner has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left hip.
Analysis: The team said that the operation to repair a torn labrum and "clean up some loose fragments" was performed Tuesday by Dr. Marc Philippon at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colo. Philippon, who operated on Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez's hip last week, said the surgery went well and Warner's range of motion with the hip immediately improved.
|Mar. 4 10:45 PM PT11:45 PM MT12:45 AM CT1:45 AM ET6:45 AM GMT2:45 PM 北京时间-Warner has made a counteroffer to the Arizona Cardinals that could pave the way for his return to the team he led to the Super Bowl. Warner's agent said he has offered a two-year deal worth $23 million, with $12 million guaranteed.
Analysis: The Cardinals reportedly offered a two-year, $20 million contract with $10 million guaranteed. Warner had sought a deal that would rank with the top five paid quarterbacks in the league: two years for some $29 million.
|Mar. 4 10:20 AM PT11:20 AM MT12:20 PM CT1:20 PM ET6:20 PM GMT2:20 AM 北京时间-Warner is staying with the Arizona Cardinals, agreeing to a two-year, $23 million contract.
Analysis: The agent for the 37-year-old quarterback said Wednesday the deal includes a $15 million signing bonus. Warner has been with the Cardinals four years. This season, he led them to the NFC title. The Cardinals lost to Pittsburgh 27-23 in the Super Bowl.
|Mar. 2 11:19 AM PT12:19 PM MT1:19 PM CT2:19 PM ET7:19 PM GMT3:19 AM 北京时间-Warner is taking a physical exam and meeting with the top brass of the San Francisco 49ers, who are in hot pursuit of the free agent quarterback.
Analysis: Warner led the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl last season, but hasn't re-signed with the club. NFC West rival San Francisco has no settled starting quarterback, and the 49ers seem very interested in signing the 37-year-old passer.
|Feb. 24 7:28 PM PT8:28 PM MT9:28 PM CT10:28 PM ET3:28 AM GMT11:28 AM 北京时间-The agent for Kurt Warner says he expected the quarterback and the Cardinals would have a contract agreement by now and hopes the team isn't using his client's desire to stay in Arizona against him. Agent Mark Bartelstein said Warner deserves a salary among the top ``four or five'' quarterbacks in the league, no matter where he plays. According to Bartelstein, those five earn an average of about $14.5 million per year.
Analysis: Warner was a bargain last season, earning about $4 million plus incentives at the controls of a prolific passing game that led the Cardinals on an improbable run to the Super Bowl. In four playoff games, Warner completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,147 yards and 11 touchdowns, with three interceptions.
|Feb. 1 6:57 PM PT7:57 PM MT8:57 PM CT9:57 PM ET2:57 AM GMT10:57 AM 北京时间-Warner completed 31 of 43 passes for 377 yards and three touchdowns with one costly interception in the Cardinals' Super Bowl loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Analysis: The 31 completions were one shy of New England quarterback Tom Brady's Super Bowl record and tied Buffalo's Jim Kelly for second. Warner, who is pondering retirement, now holds the top three passing yard marks for a Super Bowl, previously throwing for 414 yards in 2000 against Tennessee and 365 yards against New England in 2002 while with the St. Louis Rams.
