|Aug. 21 5:32 PM PT6:32 PM MT7:32 PM CT8:32 PM ET12:32 AM GMT8:32 AM 北京时间5:32 PM MST7:32 PM EST6:32 PM CT - Thomas retired on Saturday, leaving the San Diego Chargers woefully thin at a crucial position due to Marcus McNeill's holdout.
Analysis: The 35-year-old Thomas was signed as insurance in early June when it became apparent that McNeill, a Pro Bowler in 2006-07, could stage a prolonged holdout. But Thomas, a 12-year veteran, was hurt early in training camp and had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Thomas was a first-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 2001, '02 and '04 seasons.
|Aug. 4 2:34 PM PT3:34 PM MT4:34 PM CT5:34 PM ET9:34 PM GMT5:34 AM 北京时间2:34 PM MST4:34 PM EST3:34 PM CT - Thomas had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. He's expected to miss roughly two weeks and won't play in the exhibition game against the Chicago Bears on Aug. 14.
Analysis: Thomas was signed as insurance because of Marcus McNeill's holdout. Brandyn Dombrowski is working exclusively with the first team and undrafted rookie Nick Richmond has been taking snaps at left tackle on the second team.
|June 9 3:52 PM PT4:52 PM MT5:52 PM CT6:52 PM ET10:52 PM GMT6:52 AM 北京时间3:52 PM MST5:52 PM EST4:52 PM CT - Thomas signed a one-year contract Wednesday with the San Diego Chargers, perhaps as insurance in case left tackle Marcus McNeill continues his holdout.
Analysis: Thomas was a first-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 2001, '02 and '04 seasons. He played in five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl with the Eagles. Thomas signed with Jacksonville last year and played in just eight games, starting one.
