Analysis: McGloin saw few practice reps during the week due to the shoulder injury he suffered during last week's regular-season finale against Denver. The Raiders will have him on standby with Cook likely to have a short leash in his first NFL start.

McGloin was starting in place of Derek Carr, who is out indefinitely after breaking his right leg last week.
Analysis: McGloin's first start since 2013 was a disaster, getting hurt when Jared Crick slammed him to the turf. Rookie Connor Cook replaced McGloin, and Oakland lost to Denver to fall to the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs. It's unclear if McGloin would be healthy enough to play in the first round, but he didn't play too well before getting hurt so it's possible Cook could get the nod anyway.
