Analysis: Lindley, released by the Cardinals at the end of preseason, was signed off the San Diego practice squad after Carson Palmer went down with a season-ending knee injury against St. Louis on Nov. 9. Arians said after Thursday's practice that Drew Stanton will miss his third straight game with a sprained right knee. Stanton had the knee scoped last week after developing an infection.

Arians does not talk to reporters Thursday and offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin was not forthcoming about the reported quarterback switch.
Analysis: Arians had said that rookie Logan Thomas would get his first NFL start against the 49ers but apparently didn't like what he saw in Wednesday's practice. Lindley was working with the No. 1 unit in the brief portion of Thursday's practice that was open to reporters. Azcentral.com, which includes The Arizona Republic, first reported the quarterback switch.

Analysis: Lindley, Arizona's fourth quarterback of the season, misfired all night and got no help from the ground game. He threw for 216 yards on 18-of-44 passing with an interception to superstar Richard Sherman. He will likely get benched for next week's trip to face the Niners.

Analysis: Lindley, released by the team at the end of the preseason, takes the roster spot of Carson Palmer, who was placed on injured reserve after tearing an ACL in Sunday's win over St. Louis. Lindley was signed by Arizona from the San Diego Chargers practice squad. A sixth-round draft pick of the Cardinals out of San Diego State in 2012, Lindley spent two seasons with Arizona, starting three games as a rookie. He was the team's No. 3 quarterback in 2013.
