Troy Vincent, the NFL's senior vice president for player engagement, says someone close to Young contacted the league. But, he says, Young rejected several offers for help.

Young was banished three times by the Lions last year because of his behavior, including once for punching teammate Louis Delmas. He recently lashed out at the team on Twitter.
|Feb. 4 12:30 PM PT1:30 PM MT2:30 PM CT3:30 PM ET20:30 GMT4:30 AM 北京时间1:30 PM MST3:30 PM EST2:30 PM CT0:30 UAE (+1)15:30 ET18:30 - The Detroit Lions have released wide receiver Titus Young. The team made the announcement Monday. It wasn't much of a surprise. "If y'all going to cut me let me go," Young posted on his Twitter account last month. "I'm tired of the threats."
Analysis: An email seeking comment was sent to Young on Monday. Young was banished from the team in November for what Jim Schwarz called unacceptable behavior and was later put on injured reserve. Young was also told to stay away from the team during its last offseason for punching teammate Louis Delmas when the safety wasn't looking. Detroit drafted Young out of Boise State in 2011, and he had 48 receptions for 607 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie.
