The deal could be worth up to $5 million. Analysis: A second-round draft pick out of Bethune-Cookman in 2003, Mathis has spent his entire career in Jacksonville. He has 538 tackles and a franchise-record 30 interceptions in 125 career games. He would have hit the free-agent market next week, but the Jaguars decided to bring him back for at least one more season. Mathis will turn 32 in August.
