Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on a weekly radio appearance Friday that McClain, who has 22 tackles, wants to play and thinks he might play. But Jones also called the linebacker "doubtful."
Analysis: McClain hasn't practiced since coming out of last week's game at Tennessee with a groin injury. He was listed as doubtful for the Rams when Dallas (1-1) released its practice report Friday. If McClain doesn't play, his most likely replacement would be Anthony Hitchens, the fourth-round draft pick who would slide over from weakside linebacker. Hitchens started against the Titans last week, but was in for only eight defensive plays.

Analysis: McClain said Saturday he was ready to resume his career after the former top 10 pick by Oakland retired and quit twice in Baltimore. The Ravens traded him to Dallas earlier this month. The 25-year-old McClain was sentenced to 18 days in jail on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama. He appealed the conviction.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said McClain returned to his home state Wednesday, and the team was hopeful he would get back from Decatur, Alabama, in time for the third day of camp workouts Saturday.
Analysis: McClain's trial was set for Friday after a judge rejected a delay. McClain traveled with the team from Dallas to Oxnard, California, on Tuesday. The Cowboys acquired the rights to McClain from Baltimore on July 1. He was the eighth overall pick by Oakland out of Alabama in 2010 but hasn't played since 2012.
|July 22 10:41 AM PT11:41 AM MT12:41 PM CT1:41 PM ET17:41 GMT1:41 AM 北京时间10:41 AM MST12:41 PM EST12:41 PM CT21:41 UAE13:41 ET16:41 - An Alabama judge has denied a motion from Dallas linebacker Rolando McClain to delay his trial because of training camp.
Analysis: Decatur Municipal Court Clerk Jessica Haggard said Tuesday that Judge Bill Cook Jr. declined to push back the trial set for Friday on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. McClain's local attorney, Carl Cole, had filed a motion to reschedule because the Cowboys start camp on Thursday. Dallas acquired the rights to McClain from Baltimore on July 1. He was the eighth overall pick by Oakland out of Alabama in 2010 but had retired and hasn't played since 2012.
|July 1 3:01 PM PT4:01 PM MT5:01 PM CT6:01 PM ET22:01 GMT6:01 AM 北京时间3:01 PM MST5:01 PM EST5:01 PM CT2:01 UAE (+1)18:01 ET21:01 - The Dallas Cowboys have acquired the rights to McClain and are placing Sean Lee on season-ending injured reserve with a torn knee ligament.
Analysis: The team reported on its website Tuesday that it also would send a sixth-round pick in next year's draft to the Ravens while getting a seventh-round pick in return. McClain was the eighth overall pick by Oakland in 2010, but off-the-field issues, including multiple arrests, shortened his career. He has been retired and hasn't played since 2012.
|Apr. 22 2:17 PM PT3:17 PM MT4:17 PM CT5:17 PM ET21:17 GMT5:17 AM 北京时间2:17 PM MST4:17 PM EST4:17 PM CT1:17 UAE (+1)17:17 ET20:17 - The Baltimore Ravens have put middle linebacker Rolando McClain on the reserve-retired list for a second time. McClain retired last year, but recently announced his intent to return to the NFL. After being reinstated by the Ravens last week, McClain abruptly said he was retiring for good.
Analysis: The 6-foot-4, 250-pound McClain signed a one-year contract with Baltimore last year but never played a down with the Ravens, retiring after his arrest for disorderly conduct in Alabama. By putting McClain on the reserve-retired list, the Ravens retain his rights if he should again change his mind. McClain was the Oakland Raiders' first-round pick in 2010 after starring at Alabama. In three seasons with Oakland, McClain had 246 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks.
