Analysis: There's no reason you should count on Bradford going forward considering his history of knee trouble and that Keenum has played reasonably well in his place. There's also Teddy Bridgewater waiting in the wings.
|Oct. 10, 2017 1:12 PM PT2:12 PM MT3:12 PM CT4:12 PM ET20:12 GMT4:12 1:12 PM MST3:12 PM EST3:12 PM CT0:12 UAE (+1)16:12 ETNaN: - Another MRI on Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford's left knee has revealed no additional injury, after he was pulled early from the game at Chicago because of continued discomfort. Vikings head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman said Tuesday that Bradford does not have any ligament damage or bone bruising, just aggravation of the wear and tear in the joint that has hampered him for the past four weeks. He sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday.
Analysis: The Vikings beat the Bears 20-17 behind a strong second-half performance by backup Case Keenum, who started the three previous games in place of Bradford. Sugarman said there was unanimous confidence on the coaching and medical staffs that Bradford was well enough to start Monday.
|Oct. 9, 2017 6:13 PM PT7:13 PM MT8:13 PM CT9:13 PM ET1:13 GMT9:13 6:13 PM MST8:13 PM EST8:13 PM CT5:13 UAE (+1)21:13 ETNaN: - Bradford has been taken out of Monday's game due to an undisclosed injury. He had missed the previous three games because of a left knee injury.
Analysis: Bradford just didn't look right throughout the first half, struggling to move and limping when he walked. It looked like a number of things could be bothering him.
|Oct. 9, 2017 7:58 PM PT8:58 PM MT9:58 PM CT10:58 PM ET2:58 GMT10:58 7:58 PM MST9:58 PM EST9:58 PM CT6:58 UAE (+1)22:58 ETNaN: - Sam Bradford was 5 of 11 for 36 yards and didn't throw a touchdown pass Monday in the Minnesota Vikings' 20-17 win over the Chicago Bears. He did not throw an interception, didn't fumble and was sacked four times.
Analysis: Bradford was pulled from Monday's game late in the second quarter after a very ineffective performance. Making his return from a three-week absence due to a knee injury, Bradford aggravated his injured knee during the first half. It doesn't seem likely that Bradford would be ready to start Sunday against Green Bay.
|Oct. 5, 2017 8:36 AM PT9:36 AM MT10:36 AM CT11:36 AM ET15:36 GMT23:36 8:36 AM MST10:36 AM EST10:36 AM CT19:36 UAE11:36 ETNaN: - Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford was active for Monday's game against the Chicago Bears after missing the previous three because of a left knee injury.
Analysis: Bradford experienced swelling and soreness following a strong season opener against New Orleans and sought a second opinion from the surgeon who performed both his ACL reconstructions, Dr. James Andrews. Bradford practiced on a limited basis last week and said Friday he was feeling "night and day" better. The Vikings dropped two of three with Case Keenum filling in.
|Sep. 27, 2017 10:19 AM PT11:19 AM MT12:19 PM CT1:19 PM ET17:19 GMT1:19 10:19 AM MST12:19 PM EST12:19 PM CT21:19 UAE13:19 ETNaN: - Bradford has been ruled out of Minnesota's Week 4 matchup against the Lions, and the team doesn't have a timetable for his return. Case Keenum will make his third straight start Sunday.
Analysis: The Vikings had been hopeful earlier in the week that Bradford would be back Sunday, but he didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, and apparently the team didn't feel there was any reason to wait to announce Keenum as the starter. However, the team insists Bradford remains its starting quarterback if healthy. Yet, if Keenum performs nearly as well as he did in last week's win over the Bucs, Minnesota won't feel compelled to rush Bradford back.
|Sep. 20, 2017 10:47 AM PT11:47 AM MT12:47 PM CT1:47 PM ET17:47 GMT1:47 10:47 AM MST12:47 PM EST12:47 PM CT21:47 UAE13:47 ETNaN: - The Vikings have officially ruled out Bradford (knee) from Sunday's against the Bucs even though he practiced on a limited basis the past two days.
Analysis: There were fears that the knee problem which kept him out last weekend against the Steelers would lead to an extended absence, but his participation in practice led most to believe he'd return in Week 3. Bradford, though, has a history of knee trouble and apparently the pain grew worse Friday. His absence again hurts Dalvin Cook and Stefon Diggs after their disappointing Week 2 performances with Case Keenum under center.
|Sep. 18, 2017 11:52 AM PT12:52 PM MT1:52 PM CT2:52 PM ET18:52 GMT2:52 11:52 AM MST1:52 PM EST1:52 PM CT22:52 UAE14:52 ETNaN: - Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says Bradford's left knee is "feeling better" a day after the quarterback missed Minnesota's game against Pittsburgh. But Zimmer is unsure when Bradford will play again.
Analysis: Zimmer gave short and ornery answers Sunday when asked about Bradford following the loss to the Steelers. On Monday, he apologized for snapping and joked that there was no wine in the locker room after the difficult loss to help calm him.
|Sep. 17, 2017 7:41 AM PT8:41 AM MT9:41 AM CT10:41 AM ET14:41 GMT22:41 7:41 AM MST9:41 AM EST9:41 AM CT18:41 UAE10:41 ETNaN: - The Vikings have made Bradford inactive early Sunday, meaning Case Keenum will get the start at quarterback for Minnesota at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Bradford played spectacularly in a Week 1 victory over New Orleans but injured the knee during the game and was limited in practice all week.
|Sep. 16, 2017 12:00 PM PT1:00 PM MT2:00 PM CT3:00 PM ET19:00 GMT3:00 12:00 PM MST2:00 PM EST2:00 PM CT23:00 UAE15:00 ETNaN: - Bradford (knee) traveled with the Vikings to Pittsburgh, a sure sign he will start Sunday.
Analysis: The knee problem is clearly a big concern to the Vikings, though, because they signed Kyle Sloter from their practice squad to be their third quarterback in Week 2. Case Keenum would start if Bradford can't go or leaves the game.
|Sep. 13, 2017 4:39 PM PT5:39 PM MT6:39 PM CT7:39 PM ET23:39 GMT7:39 4:39 PM MST6:39 PM EST6:39 PM CT3:39 UAE (+1)19:39 ETNaN: - Bradford is fully expected to start Sunday, though there are reportedly lingering concerns about his left knee.
Analysis: Bradford has been a limited participant in practice, and ESPN reported he had an MRI earlier in the week. The report says the Vikings have "guarded optimism but convern" over the injury. Bradford has a long history of knee problems, so you might want to be careful about penciling him in as your starter for the rest of the season.
|Sep. 11, 2017 8:00 PM PT9:00 PM MT10:00 PM CT11:00 PM ET3:00 GMT11:00 8:00 PM MST10:00 PM EST10:00 PM CT7:00 UAE (+1)23:00 ETNaN: - Bradford threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns without an interception while completing 27 of 32 passes in the Vikings' 29-19 Week 1 win over New Orleans on Monday night. He finished with -3 yards on two rush attempts as well.
Analysis: Getting terrific protection from a revamped offensive line that was a major weakness a season ago, Bradford carved up a shaky New Orleans secondary while showing outstanding accuracy on just about every throw. The oft-injured veteran looks to have a chance to maintain QB1 value in a contract year, though not every game will be as easy as this one.
