| 5/15/2013 | Kyle Love, DT | The New England Patriots have released Love after he was diagnosed with diabetes. Analysis: The three-year veteran started 11 regular-season games last year and one of two postseason games. He joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Mississippi State in 2010 and started 25 of the 41 regular-season games in which he played. |
| 5/14/2013 | Melvin Ingram, LB | Ingram has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, putting his season in jeopardy. The Chargers announced that Ingram was hurt Tuesday morning during an organized team activity practice. Analysis: Ingram was the Chargers' first-round pick - 18th overall - out of South Carolina in last year's NFL draft. He started just one game and had one sack, 16 tackles and a forced fumble. He was expected to take on an increased role this season with outside linebackers Antwan Barnes (Jets) and Shaun Phillips (Broncos) signing elsewhere in the offseason. |
| 5/14/2013 | Charles Woodson, S | Woodson met with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, then left town without a contract. Analysis: Woodson, who will be 37 this fall, was waived by the Green Bay Packers in February after missing seven games last season because of a broken right collarbone. The Broncos have roughly $7 million in cap space and could use the veteran ball hawk in their secondary, which was burned for three long touchdown passes in their 38-35 loss to Baltimore in the playoffs. |
| 5/14/2013 | Mickey Shuler, TE | The Buffalo Bills have claimed Shuler off waivers after he was released by the Oakland Raiders. Analysis: Listed at 6-foot-4 and 247 pounds, Shuler spent the final 11 weeks of last season on Oakland's practice squad. He was selected by Minnesota in the seventh round of the 2010 draft out of Penn State. He split his rookie season with Minnesota and Miami, where he had two catches for 44 yards in six games. He split the 2011 season between Cincinnati, Minnesota and Miami. |
| 5/14/2013 | William Gholston, DE | Gholston has signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Analysis: The 6-foot-6, 281-pound defensive end out of Michigan State was the 126th overall selection last month. He had 10 career sacks in college and was a second-team All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore and junior with the Spartans. The Bucs announced the signing Tuesday. |
| 5/14/2013 | Jordan Rodgers, QB | Rodgers, an undrafted rookie and the younger brother of Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers, had sports hernia surgery Tuesday and will be out until training camp in July. Analysis: Rodgers injured his groin on the first day of rookie minicamp earlier this month and hasn't practiced since. Now, he will miss the remaining 11 on-field workouts before training camp. Without him, Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne and fellow rookie Matt Scott will split repetitions. |
| 5/14/2013 | Deji Karim, RB | The Houston Texans have signed Karim. Analysis: Jason Bernstein, Karim's agent, announced the signing Tuesday on Twitter. The 5-foot-8 Karim tried out at the Texans' rookie minicamp last weekend. He was a sixth-round pick by Jacksonville in 2010 and rushed 98 times for 290 yards in two seasons there. He also returned kickoffs and punts for the Jaguars. |
| 5/14/2013 | De'Quan Menzie, CB | The Kansas City Chiefs have released Menzi, who spent all of last season on injured reserve, and reserve offensive lineman Lucas Patterson. Analysis: Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced the moves Tuesday, shortly after the Chiefs finished off the first of their voluntary full-squad workouts. Menzie was a standout defensive back at Alabama, but missed most of the offseason program as a rookie because of a hamstring problem. He wound up on IR and never played in a game. |
| 5/14/2013 | Prentiss Waggner, CB | The Arizona Cardinals have released Waggner. Analysis: Waggner is an undrafted rookie from Tennessee. He was a three-year starter with the Vols who had nine career interceptions. |
| 5/14/2013 | Kyle Auffray, TE | The Arizona Cardinals have signed Auffray and released cornerback Prentiss Waggner. Analysis: Auffray went undrafted out of New Hampshire and participated in the Cardinals' rookie minicamp last week in a tryout. At 6-foot-5, 254 pounds, he was primarily a blocking tight end at New Hampshire, catching four passes for 34 yards. |
| 5/14/2013 | Donovan McNabb, QB | McNabb says he will retire with the Philadelphia Eagles this fall. Analysis: The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback led the Eagles to four NFC championship games and a Super Bowl loss in 11 seasons before he was traded to Washington in 2010. McNabb went 92-49-1 with the Eagles and holds franchise records for completions (2801), passing yards (32,873) and passing touchdowns (216). McNabb announced these plans on ESPN Radio 97.7 FM in Syracuse and later on his NBC Sports Radio show. |
| 5/13/2013 | Antonio Johnson, DT | The Tennessee Titans have signed free-agent defensive tackle Antonio Johnson to a one-year contract. The move was announced Monday through a team release. Analysis: Johnson started 13 games and made 30 tackles last year for the Indianapolis Colts. He has played 67 games and has made 46 starts over the last five seasons for Indianapolis. His best season came in 2009, when he started 15 games and made 57 tackles. The Titans originally selected Johnson out of Mississippi State in the fifth round of the 2007 draft. He hurt his knee in training camp and spent the entire 2007 season on injured reserve. The Colts signed him in 2008. |
| 5/13/2013 | Joseph Randle, RB | The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Joseph Randle, their fifth-round pick, on Monday. Analysis: Randle, who skipped his final season at Oklahoma State to enter the draft, signed a four-year contract Monday. |
| 5/13/2013 | Rex Burkhead, RB | The Bengals have signed two more draft picks, linebacker Sean Porter from the fourth round and running back Rex Burkhead from the sixth round. Analysis: Five of Cincinnati's 10 draft picks are under contract. The Bengals had already signed receiver Cobi Hamilton, who was picked in the sixth round, and offensive tackle Reid Fragel and center T.J. Johnson from the seventh round. |

The Bengals had already signed receiver Cobi Hamilton, who was picked in the sixth round, and offensive tackle Reid Fragel and center T.J. Johnson from the seventh round. |
| 5/13/2013 | Manti Te'o, LB | Te'o has gone through his first practice with San Diego Chargers veterans, and by all accounts he didn't embarrass himself. He was matched up against tight end Antonio Gates a few times, which quarterback Philip Rivers calls "a quick welcome, Day 1." The team pulled an end run and kept Te'o away from a large media contingent Monday. Analysis: Te'o and other Chargers went through the first day of organized team activities, which are practices in helmets, jerseys and shorts, but no pads. Te'o, the linebacker from Notre Dame, was picked by the Chargers in the second round after slipping out of the opening round in part because of a poor performance in the national championship game against Alabama. |
| 5/13/2013 | Justin Blackmon, WR | Blackmon says he doesn't have an alcohol or substance-abuse problem, adding that his issue is "making a poor decision." The Jacksonville Jaguars receiver was suspended last month for the first four games of the 2013 season for violation the league's substance-abuse policy. Analysis: He spoke publicly for the first time Monday, apologizing to teammates and saying he's looking to "put it in the past." He says, "If you want to ask if I have a problem? I have a problem with making a poor decision." He declined comment when asked whether he planned to enroll in a rehabilitation program. Blackmon pleaded guilty last summer to aggravated DUI, which put him in the league's substance-abuse program. |
| 5/13/2013 | Knile Davis, RB | Davis officially signed with the Chiefs, who drafted him in the third round in last month's draft. Analysis: Davis had a monster sophomore season for Arkansas, running for 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns. But the 227-pound Davis broke an ankle as a junior, and a combination of uncertainty on the coaching staff and his fumbling problems resulted in a rough junior season. He only ran for 377 yards and two touchdowns last year. |
| 5/12/2013 | Sheldon Richardson, DT | While nearly all of the media attention has been on Geno Smith at New York Jets rookie camp, Sheldon Richardson has impressed his coaches with some solid practices. Analysis: Richardson was a first-round draft pick two weeks ago - unlike Smith, who was a second-rounder. But the big defensive lineman out of Missouri wasn't even the Jets' first pick. That was cornerback Dee Milliner, who was taken No. 9 overall - four spots ahead of Richardson. Rex Ryan certainly likes what he has seen from Richardson, saying he has "popped out" on the field. Good start for the 6-foot-3, 295-pound lineman who stunningly once returned kicks in high school. |
| 5/11/2013 | Frank Okam, DT | Okam was signed by the Giants on Saturday. Analysis: Okam has played for Houston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. |
