West Ham United-Liverpool Preview

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says every game must be treated as a cup final as his team prepare to face West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday.

Liverpool picked up just their third win of the league season with a huge home victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Despite the win, the Reds remain 14 points behind early leaders Arsenal, and Klopp knows every game is vital if his side are to have any chance of winning the title.

"From now they are all finals," Klopp told reporters. "We realized that a few weeks ago.

"We respect West Ham a lot, (they have) caused us a lot of problems. They have really quality players."

West Ham are unbeaten in their last three matches ahead of their trip to Anfield, winning two of those having previously won just one Premier League game all season.

But manager David Moyes acknowledged just how difficult it will be to get a result on Wednesday.

"It's probably as hard a place to go in the world to go and win a football game," Moyes said.

"You saw that with probably the best manager in the world (Pep Guardiola) going there on Sunday and not getting one.

"I said last year we wanted to be competitive against the best teams and I think we were. I hope we can try and do that this year too."

Liverpool - Mohamed Salah

Salah has scored nine goals in 10 Premier League appearances against West Ham. Can he keep up that impressive record with another goal against the Hammers?

West Ham - Declan Rice

After netting their equalizer as they took a 1-1 draw away from Southampton on Sunday, West Ham's captain Rice could help his side again with another solid display at Anfield.

- Liverpool have lost just one of their last 49 home league games against West Ham (36 wins, 12 defeats), going down 3-0 in August 2015 under Brendan Rodgers.

- Liverpool have won 11 of their last 12 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League games, including the last seven in a row by an aggregate score of 20-3. Their only defeat in this run was at Leicester in December last season.

- Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 28 Premier League home games (won 21, drawn seven), since losing six in a row between January and March 2021. They have scored 72 goals in these games, while conceding just 16 in return.

- West Ham have conceded 799 away goals in Premier League history, and could become the fourth side to ship 800 on the road, after Everton (848), Newcastle (830) and Tottenham Hotspur (826).

- West Ham manager David Moyes has never won in 17 Premier League away games against Liverpool (six draws, 11 defeats). Only Moyes himself has managed more away games against an opponent without ever winning in the competition (18 vs both Arsenal and Chelsea).
