TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) Austin Dantin threw five touchdown passes to help Toledo beat Akron 35-23 on Tuesday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Dantin was 29 of 35 for 327 yards with an interception for the Rockets (9-3, 6-2 Mid-American). David Pasquale caught seven passes for 110 yards and a touchdown and ran for 93 yards on 15 carries, and Alonzo Russell had nine receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Dantin threw three TD passes in the second quarter - connecting with Russell on 23- and 39-yard strikes and Pasquale on a 55-yarder - to give the Rockets a 21-17 lead. In the fourth quarter, Dantin added a 2-yard scoring pass to Alex Zmolik and a 3-yarder to Justin Olack to make it 35-17.
