NC Central reinstates football coach Frazier

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Henry Frazier has been reinstated as North Carolina Central's football coach.

The school announced his reinstatement Monday and said his legal matter has been resolved but did not elaborate on what the resolution was. Morrisville Police did not immediately return a call seeking further details.

N.C. Central suspended him in May following his arrest on a charge of assaulting a female. Authorities had said Frazier and his wife were arguing at their house on May 14 when the alleged assault took place.

WTVD-TV in Durham reports the charge is being dismissed while Frazier completes an abuse treatment program.

N.C. Central chancellor Charlie Nelms says Frazier is "remorseful" for the distraction while athletic director Ingrid Wicker-McCree says she has "full confidence that he has learned from this unfortunate situation."
