NC Central 21, NC A&T 31

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Behind the passing of Lewis Kindle and the rushing of Mike Mayhew, North Carolina A&T took an early 14-0 lead and scored 10 fourth-quarter points for a 31-21 victory Saturday over North Carolina Central in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action. It was the season finale for both teams.

Mayhew ran for 163 yards and topped the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the second straight season. Wallace Miles caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Aggies (5-6, 4-4).

Kindle scored on a 1-yard touchdown to open the scoring, then hit Miles for a 37-yard touchdown to make it 14-0. In the second quarter, North Carolina Central (2-9, 1-7) quarterback Michael Johnson threw two scoring passes, one to Andrew Johnson and a second to Marvin Poole just before halftime making it 21-14.

After a fourth-quarter field goal, Kindle capped an 84-yard drive with a 1-yard sneak to make it 31-14.
