Bryant holds off St. Francis (Pa.) 45-34
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Bryant's balanced offensive attack was too much for St. Francis (Pa.) as the Bulldogs prevailed 45-34 on Saturday.
Mike Croce passed for 278 and three touchdowns while Jordan Brown ran for 243 yards and three scores for the Bulldogs (7-3, 5-2 Northeast Conference), who have won three straight. The Bulldogs are averaging 35 points in their last five games.
Touchdown runs of 15 and 62 yards by Brown helped stake Bryant to a 17-0 lead in the second quarter. The Red Flash (2-9, 1-7) twice battled back to within a touchdown, the final time at 38-34 after a 5-yard touchdown run by A.J. Alexander with 11:22 remaining in the game.
Bryant answered three minutes later with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Croce to Jordan Harris to seal it.
John Kelly passed for 216 yards and three touchdowns while Alexander had 114 yards receiving and two scores for the Red Flash.
