Delaware rolls past Richmond 24-10

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Andrew Pierce ran for two touchdowns and Delaware got off to a quick start in a 24-10 win over Richmond on Saturday.

Pierce rushed for a career-high 215 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 4 yards in the first half as the Blue Hens (6-4, 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association) raced to a 21-3 halftime lead.

Tim Donnelly passed for 129 yards and ran for a touchdown for Delaware, which won its second game in a row.

Delaware's defense kept Richmond in check, intercepting three passes and recovering a fumble. Richmond, which penetrated the Delaware 20-yard-line only twice, was kept out of the end zone until Aaron Corp passed to Tre Gray for a 38-yard touchdown with 7:35 remaining in the game.

Corp, despite being intercepted three times and sacked four times, was able to complete 23 of 42 passes for 250 yards for the Spiders (3-7, 0-7).
