Eastern Kentucky beats Jacksonville State 52-48
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Tyrone Goard caught a 37-yard touchdown from T.J. Pryor with 1:24 left and Eastern Kentucky made a goal line stop as time expired to beat Jacksonville State 52-48 on Saturday.
The Colonels (6-3, 5-1 Ohio Valley Conference), who have won five straight games, overcame a 24-point deficit in the last 7:25 of the fourth quarter after Jacksonville State's Washaun Ealey scored on an 83-yard run.
Less than a minute after Ealey's score, Pryor threw a 60-yard touchdown to Cameron Bailey for Eastern Kentucky. Anthony Brown returned a fumble 71 yards for a score, Pryor connected with Justin Williams on an 18-yard touchdown and Pryor hooked up with Goard for the go-ahead score.
Jacksonville State (5-4, 4-2) had a chance to win, driving 61 yards on 11 plays to Eastern Kentucky's 1-yard line. But Gamecocks running back Calvin Middleton was stuffed by Eastern Kentucky's defense to preserve the win for the Colonels.
