North Carolina A&T trounces Howard 38-10

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Mike Mayhew paced the North Carolina A&T ground game as the Aggies ran over Howard 38-10 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown Saturday.

Mayhew accounted for 138 of the Aggies' 242 rushing yards, scoring once on 20 carries. His first-quarter touchdown gave North Carolina A&T (3-3, 1-2) a 14-7 lead the team would maintain through the final buzzer.

Mayhew was one of three Aggies to run in touchdowns, as Ricky Lewis (12 carries, 76 yards) and Lewis Kindle (12 carries, 28 yards) also contributed rushing scores.

Parker Munoz kicked a 37-yard field goal for the Bison (4-2, 3-1) with 30 seconds to play in the second quarter which cut Howard's deficit to 14-10.

In the second half, the Aggies scored 24 unanswered points to close out the win, including a pair of interception returns for touchdowns.

Howard's Greg McGhee was 18-of-36 passing for 234 yards but threw three interceptions.
