Murray State sneaks win at Tennessee Tech 38-37

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Casey Brockman threw three touchdowns, ran for another and Murray State got an advantageous bounce on a Tennessee Tech failed extra point to seal a 38-37 win on Saturday.

Brockman notched his rushing touchdown, a 1-yarder, for Murray State's (5-4, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) final points and a 38-31 lead with 11:57 remaining in the game.

But Tennessee Tech (5-3, 4-2) answered with 2:05 left on Tre Lamb's 13-yard scoring pass to Tim Benford to pull within one. Zach Sharp wasn't on point for the kick, though, banging the extra-point attempt off the upright and sealing the win for the Racers.

When the Racers got the ball back, Brockman kneeled three times to run the clock out.

The Murray State quarterback finished 31 of 43 with 270 yards and an interception.

Lamb was 14 of 29 with 197 yards, two touchdowns and an interception to lead the Golden Eagles.
