Late TD lifts Cal Poly over Southern Utah 31-27

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) Quarterback Andre Broadous scored on a 4-yard run with 45 seconds remaining Saturday, lifting Cal Poly to a 31-27 victory over Southern Utah.

The Mustangs (3-3, 1-0 Great West) got the ball after Southern Utah (3-4, 0-3) had taken a 27-24 lead on Colton Cook's 34-yard field goal with 3:22 remaining. Cal Poly marched 70 yards in 10 plays - eight of them runs - as Broadous clinched it with his second rushing touchdown of the game.

Jake Romanelli added 101 yards rushing and two TDs for Cal Poly, which rallied for the second straight week after coming back from a 19-10 halftime deficit in last week's 44-25 win over Central Oklahoma. Broadous had 81 yards rushing while also completing 6 of 16 passes for 38 yards.

Brad Sorensen was 25 of 42 passing for 296 yards and two TDs for Southern Utah, which led 14-3 in the second quarter and never trailed until the final minute of the game.
