Florida Gulf Coast downs Stetson 72-58

MACON, Ga. (AP) Sherwood Brown scored 18 points and Bernard Thompson added a double-double to lift Florida Gulf Coast past Stetson 72-58 in the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament Friday night.

Thompson scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 13 boards to help Florida Gulf Coast (23-10) outrebound Stetson 42-35.

On top 40-35 with 11 minutes remaining, Florida Gulf Coast pulled away with a 10-2 run, capped by Chase Fieler's dunk with 7:06 left to play. The Eagles led by double figures the rest of the way, and by as many as 16 points.
