Northwestern powers past Indiana 72-65

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) Northwestern could easily have written off the season after a 10-game losing streak extended into February.

Instead, the Wildcats are reaping rewards of a modest but real revival that included Wednesday's 72-65 victory over Indiana.

"It would have been real easy to say, `You know what? Let's wait `til next year,'" Northwestern coach Chris Collins said. "(But) we really wiped the slate clean. . (Now) we're playing well. The guys are confident. There's nothing like winning. It builds confidence."
