FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Hunter Mickelson appears to be on the verge of becoming the latest Arkansas basketball player to transfer.
The father of Arkansas forward said Tuesday that the sophomore has asked for and been granted his release by coach Mike Anderson. Darien Mickelson said his 6-foot-10 son is waiting on a meeting with Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long to complete the transfer request.
"We're going to try and go somewhere else," Mickelson said. "It wasn't really a good fit for us basketball-wise. We love the university and the campus and everything that went with it, but the system and individual-development wise it isn't where we need to be at."
