UMass upends Florida State 75-69

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) Jabari Hinds and Trey Davis combined to hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 29.4 seconds Sunday as Massachusetts held on for a 75-69 victory over Florida State in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic.

Hinds and Donte Clark led UMass (4-1) with 15 points each. They combined to make 12 of 14 free throws for the Minutemen, who were 23 of 30 from the line. Cady Lalanne added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Florida State (1-3) lost its third consecutive game. Xavier Rathan-Mayes led the Seminoles with 22 points, but missed a pair of free throws with 15.1 second remaining and UMass leading 73-69. He rebounded the second miss and then missed a 3-point attempt.
