Hammond, Arkansas-Pine Bluff down MVSU 78-70 in OT

ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) Tevin Hammond scored six of his 13 points in overtime via free throws as Arkansas-Pine Bluff downed Mississippi Valley State 78-70 Thursday night in each teams' regular-season finale.

The win was the Golden Lions' fourth straight - Hammond hit a game-winning 3-pointer as UAPB downed Jackson State 73-72 on Feb. 25.

The Golden Lions (16-14, 15-3) trailed 65-62 after MVSU's Cortland Henry's free throw with 7 seconds left in regulation, but UAPB's Terrell Kennedy drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to force overtime.
