Guard T.J. Taylor granted release from Marquette

MILWAUKEE (AP) Guard T.J. Taylor has been granted his release from Marquette, with the school citing personal reasons for the decision.

Golden Eagles coach Buzz Williams announced the move in a statement Wednesday.

Williams says, "we are in complete support of his decision and we wish him all the best in his future as a student-athlete."

Taylor, who arrived on campus in early July for the start of class, was in his first season with the Golden Eagles. The Denison, Texas, native was a standout at Paris Junior College in 2011-12.

He signed with Oklahoma as a freshman in 2010-11 but never played for the Sooners after sustaining a concussion.
