Marshall to Remain as coach of Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Wichita State's Gregg Marshall says he will remain as coach of the Shockers after leading them to the Missouri Valley Conference's regular-season title.

Earlier in the week published reports said Marshall turned down a $2 million offer to become Nebraska coach, a report Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne denied.

Marshall led Wichita State to a 27-6 record and an at-large big to the NCAA tournament, but the Shockers lost to VCU in the second round of the South Regional. Wichita State has a 98-41 record in his four years at the school.

Last year, the Shockers won the NIT tournament.
