Seattle shoots past travel-weary Longwood 111-74
SEATTLE (AP) Sterling Carter scored 28 points and Seattle made 11 3-pointers in the first 12 minutes en route to a 111-74 victory against travel-weary Longwood on Wednesday night.
As a team, Seattle was 11 of 38 (28.9 percent) from 3-point range.
Antwan Carter scored 28 points and Martiz Washington 21 for the Lancers (10-21), who ended their season with three games in five days on both coasts, at NJIT, Gonzaga and Seattle. Longwood was outscored 297-185 in the three defeats.
The Redhawks conclude their season at Portland State on Saturday, and both schools end an era as independents. They join new conferences on July 1, Longwood the Big South and Seattle the Western Athletic.
