Belmont beats Kennesaw State 90-50
KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Mick Hedgepeth scored all 12 of his points in the first half and Scott Saunders had a double-double as Belmont routed Kennesaw State 90-50 on Thursday night for its 10th straight win.
Belmont (23-7, 15-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) trailed 3-2 early in the first half but it was the last time Kennesaw State would see the lead, as the Bruins used a 23-3 run to open a 25-6 lead with 8:52 left in the period.
Hedgepeth knocked down consecutive layups to give Belmont a 46-15 lead at halftime.
The Bruins shot 61 percent (34 of 56) from the field while holding Kennesaw State (3-27, 0-17) to just 29 percent (17 of 58).
