Morgan State overcomes Coppin State 91-80
BALTIMORE (AP) Aric Brooks scored 19 points and Justin Black 17 as Morgan State pulled away late for a 91-80 victory over Coppin State on Wednesday night after squandering a 21-point first-half lead.
After Coppin State took its last lead of the game, 66-65 on a 3-pointer by Logan Wiens with 10:22 remaining, the Bears (7-18, 4-9 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) took control with a 12-3 run that put them ahead 77-69 with 5:59 left.
Jeremy Canty finished the run with two 3-pointers and had 12 points overall.
Morgan State led 38-17 with 8:38 to play in the first half, but the Eagles (13-14, 8-6) finished the half strong, taking a 46-45 lead on a 3-pointer by Michael Harper as time ran out.
Ian Chiles added 12 points and Kevin Thompson had 11 rebounds for Morgan State.
