Alabama State pulls away from Alcorn State 78-63
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) Phillip Crawford scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Alabama State pulled away from Alcorn State 78-63 on Saturday night to split the season series.
Crawford recorded his third double-double of the season for the Hornets (10-15, 7-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Alabama State outscored the Braves 26-16 over the final 10 minutes to put the game out of reach.
Crawford made 11 of 15 field goal attempts to pace a 46.4 percent (26 of 56) field goal shooting effort for the Hornets. They made 19 of 34 free throw attempts while Alcorn State attempted 15, making 13.
