Hartford holds off winless Binghamton 62-60

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Andres Torres scored 17 points, including two free throws with 8 seconds left, as Hartford held on to defeat winless Binghamton 62-60 Sunday.

The Hawks (6-19, 6-7 America East Conference) led by 11 points, 58-47, with 1:59 remaining before baskets by Jabrille Williams and Robert Mansell cut the deficit for the Bearcats (0-24, 0-12) to 58-51.

After a layup by each team, Torres missed a free throw and Mansell's jumper made it 60-55 with 20 seconds left. Hartford's Nate Sikma then missed a free throw and Mansell made two at the 12-second mark.

The Bearcats fouled Torres again, and this time he restored the lead to five, 62-57.

Jimmy Gray added a 3-pointer for Binghamton for the final margin, the smallest during the Bearcats' 25-game losing streak.

Yolanzo Moore II added 16 points and Mark Nwakamma 13 for Hartford.

Dickinson scored 18, Javon Ralling 15 and Mansell 10 for Binghamton.
