Cisco carries Columbia past Cornell 61-56
NEW YORK (AP) Mark Cisco scored 18 points and grabbed 20 rebounds as Columbia led from start to finish in a 61-56 Ivy League victory over Cornell on Saturday night.
It was the second consecutive double-double for Cisco, who had 12 points and 10 rebounds last Saturday, when the Lions (12-7, 1-2) lost 62-58 to Princeton. He helped Columbia outrebound Cornell 45-29.
Columbia scored the game's first six points, but the Big Red (6-11, 1-2) closed within a point twice in each half, the last time at 37-36 with 12:24 remaining.
The Lions then took control with an 11-2 run, which included seven points by Meiko Lyles.
Lyles finished with 15 points for Columbia, and Brian Barbour added 14.
