Savannah State pulls away from Florida A&M 69-58
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Rashad Hassan led four players in double figures with 17 points as Savannah State beat Florida A&M 69-58 Saturday night.
Savannah State (8-9, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 47.1 percent (24 of 51) from the field and held Florida A&M to just 38.6 percent (22 of 57) shooting.
The Rattlers (3-15, 1-3) cut the Tigers' four-point halftime lead to two after a Jeremy Dean steal and fast break layup. But Savannah State scored 11 straight to jump ahead 41-28.
The Tigers led by 17 twice in the second half.
Despite forcing 15 Savannah State turnovers, the Rattlers only scored 15 points off turnovers compared to 19 for the Tigers.
