Massenat scores 24 as Drexel defeats VCU 64-58
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Frantz Massenat scored a career-high 24 points to lead Drexel to a 64-58 victory over Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday night.
The sophomore guard hit 7 of 10 shots, including all four of his 3-point attempts, as the Dragons (10-5, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association) won for the eighth time in nine games.
The Rams (11-5, 2-2) scored twice on free throws before Damion Lee iced the game for Drexel, twice getting fouled and making both free throws for a 61-55 lead with 18 seconds left.
Thomas finished with 10 points for Drexel. Dartaye Ruffin had nine rebounds, five on the offensive boards, and blocked three shots.
