Cal State Northridge defeats UC Riverside 63-52

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) Stephan Hicks and Josh Greene scored 13 points each to lead Cal State Northridge to a 63-52 victory against UC Riverside on Monday night.

The Matadors (4-8, 1-1 Big East) shot just 37 percent (20 of 54) from the floor, but all nine players who saw action scored.

Phil Martin scored 22 points and Robert Smith added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Highlanders (6-8, 0-1), who shot 38.5 percent (20 of 52).

Cal State Northridge led 42-30 at intermission and built its lead to 20 points with the help of 3-pointers by Greene and Ari Feldman early in the second half. UC Riverside got no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
