Sam Houston St. dumps Northern Arizona 73-49

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) Konner Tucker hit six 3-pointers and scored 25 points Tuesday night to lead Sam Houston State to a 73-49 victory over Northern Arizona.

Steven Werner added 19 points for the Bearkats (4-7), and Demarcus Gatlin had 10 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

Sam Houston never trailed and dominated the first half, shooting 51.6 percent from the field to take a 38-16 lead.

Durrell Norman had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Northern Arizona (4-8), which was coming off a 69-68 victory at Arizona State on Saturday but is now 1-7 away from Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff. The Lumberjacks had won two straight after Dave Brown took over as interim coach.

Northern Arizona shot just 31.5 percent from the field Tuesday, including 2 of 15 on 3-point attempts.
