Army beats Texas-Pan American 61-59

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) Ella Ellis scored 25 points as the lone player in double figures for Army, and the Black Knights held on to beat Texas-Pan American 61-59 Sunday despite not scoring a single point in the last 5 minutes.

The Black Knights (4-7) led 34-25 at halftime and 61-48 after Andrew Stire's layup with 5:13 remaining in the contest.

The Broncs rallied with an 11-0 run the rest of the way to pull within the final margin, but couldn't complete the comeback as Brandon Provost's 3-point attempt with 5 seconds left wouldn't fall.

Army won despite turning the ball over three times and missing all five shots the Black Knights took in the last 5 minutes. The win snapped Army's third two-game losing skid this season.

Jared Maree scored 20 points and Jesus Delgado added 10 to lead Texas-Pan American (4-9), which had its first two-game winning streak of the season snapped.
