Saint Louis routs Alabama State 65-35

ST. LOUIS (AP) Rob Loe and Cody Ellis scored 15 points apiece and Saint Louis scored the game's first 17 points in routing Alabama State 65-35 Saturday night.

The Billikens (10-1) held Alabama State to 11 first-half points and never trailed in the game. Saint Louis, which led 33-11 at the break, kept the lead at a minimum of 20 after that and led by as many as 37. The Billikens also outrebounded Alabama State 43-24.

The Hornets (2-7) didn't get on the board until Luther Page's layup with 11:54 remaining in the half. They missed their first nine shots and went just 4 for 24 (17 percent) from the field before halftime. Alabama State finished with 29 percent shooting.

Kenderek Washington led Alabama State with 12 points, all but one after halftime.
