Texas Wesleyan beats Florida International 72-68

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Jazz Holman's basket with 8 seconds left broke a tie and helped Texas Wesleyan beat Florida International 72-68 in the Lumberjack Classic Saturday.

The Rams (7-1), who play in NAIA, scored the game's final six points. Ronnie Moss, who led Texas Wesleyan with 25 points, tied the game at 68 with a basket with 2:04 to play. Holman's free throws put the Rams ahead and then Brian Talley made a pair of foul shots with 2 seconds left to wrap it up.

Texas Wesleyan shot 47 percent from the field in beating the Golden Panthers (2-6), who led by 13 in the first half.

Oscar Griffin had 18 points and eight rebounds for Texas Wesleyan. Eric Frederick added 11 points and Talley scored 10.

Phil Taylor scored a career-high 28 points to lead FIU. DeJuan Wright added 24 points.
