Delaware sinks Delaware State 58-42

DOVER, Del. (AP) Jamelle Hagins tallied a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 19 rebounds to lead Delaware over in-state foe Delaware State 58-42 on Saturday.

Devon Saddler added 16 points for the Blue Hens (4-4), who beat the Hornets (4-5) for the 10th time in 12 tries in the all-time series.

Kyle Anderson knocked down a 3-pointer to open the game for the Blue Hens, who led for all but 11 seconds in the game. Down 8-7, Anderson again put them on top for good midway through the first half.

The Blue Hens led 25-18 at the break, and a 17-4 run to begin the second half put them ahead comfortably the rest of the way.

Casey Walker scored 15 points to lead the Hornets.

In a matchup of brothers on opposite sidelines, Delaware State senior Jay Threatt and Delaware freshman Jarvis Threatt scored six points apiece in their first collegiate meeting.
