Sacramento State overtakes UC Davis 69-61

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) Joe Eberhard scored 16 points and Sacramento State rallied from a 17-point first-half deficit to defeat UC Davis 69-61 on Tuesday night.

Walter Jackson and Konner Veteto added 14 points apiece for the Hornets (3-1), who trailed 32-15 with 2:19 left in the first half.

Tyler Les had 16 points to pace the Aggies (1-5). Harrison Dupont added 15 and Josh Ritchart 10.

After Jackson opened the game with a free throw, UC Davis took command. The Aggies led 32-22 at intermission and did not surrender the lead until Jordan Estrada's 3-pointer put Sacramento State ahead 52-50 with 5:42 left.

But the Aggies, who shot 21 of 49 (42.9 percent), never led again.

The Hornets shot only 21 of 61 (34.4 percent). But they held a 42-30 rebounding advantage that helped them to a 24-7 edge in second-chance points.
